More About This Handmade Tableware Collection

This handmade ceramic tableware collection brings together my wheel-thrown stoneware bowls and plates, all made in my Sussex pottery studio. It includes small bowls for snacks, dips and little desserts, medium bowls for cereal, soup and everyday meals, tapas bowls for sharing food, and small plates for cake, biscuits, fruit and side dishes.

I make tableware to be used, these are pieces for real homes and real food — a bowl of soup at lunchtime, olives and hummus with friends, coffee and cake in the afternoon, yoghurt and berries in the morning, or a few small dishes spread across the table for a relaxed meal.

The joy of handmade tableware is that it feels personal. Each bowl and plate is individually shaped on my potter’s wheel, glazed by hand and finished with care, so small natural variations are part of the character. The pieces are not trying to be perfectly identical; they are made to feel warm, useful and quietly individual.

I care a lot about how my pottery feels in daily use. The rounded forms, glaze surfaces, weight in the hand and smooth burnished bases all matter. Burnishing the base is an extra step, but it helps each piece feel properly finished.

The collection includes my signature Sea Smoothed Pebble glazes in Coastal Blue, Pale Green, Coral, Crimson and White, along with double-dipped colourways that bring a little more movement and contrast to the table. Whether you are building a mix-and-match set, choosing a thoughtful handmade gift, or simply looking for ceramic tableware with more character than standard shop-bought pieces, these are made to be used, enjoyed and reached for often.
