Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cups

Handmade ceramic espresso cups designed to celebrate your espresso moment. Wheel-thrown in my Sussex studio using durable stoneware clay, they bring a charming café feel to coffee at home. They also make thoughtful handmade gifts that will be used daily.

More About These Handmade Espresso Cups

These espresso cups are handmade and wheel-thrown on my Rohde pottery wheel using durable stoneware clay, then finished in a couple of different styles depending on the look you prefer.

Some feature a weathered coffee bean motif and a smooth, bare clay band at the base for a more classic, café-inspired feel. Others are double dipped, layering my glossy signature Sea Smoothed Pebble glazes over a sandy satin-matte base to create a softer contrast and a slightly more contemporary look.

They’re designed for proper espresso — short, strong coffees with a good crema — and they’ve also found a second use as mini dessert pots. Chocolate mousse, lemon posset or anything rich and spoonable works brilliantly at this size — a tip I picked up from a customer and now use all the time.

Whether you’re building your own coffee ritual at home (we do have a bit of a coffee routine!) or looking for a thoughtful handmade gift, these small ceramic cups bring extra charm to the moment.

If you prefer a longer coffee, you might also like my cappuccino cups or handmade mugs. These espresso cups also pair nicely with small cake plates for something sweet on the side, or you can browse the full cups and mugs collection if you’re comparing different coffee moments.
